I’ve had time to actually use these pastels rather than reviewing them straight out of the box, and I’m very pleased with them. The colors are rich, they lay down smoothly, and they blend well without needing a lot of pressure.
I especially appreciate the range of colors in the 48-color set. There are enough variations to build up shadows, highlights, skin tones, botanicals, skies, and other details without constantly feeling like a color is missing. The extra black and white pastels are also a smart addition because those are colors I reach for often.
They are soft, so naturally they can get a little messy, but that comes with the medium. For me, the softness is actually one of the things that makes them enjoyable to work with.
Overall, this is a very nice set for someone who wants to explore oil pastels seriously without jumping straight into an enormous collection.
Without a doubt, the best watercolor brush for the money. I have spent the same amount for one brush of another brand twice now but reach for a Meeden's brush every time. They do not lose hairs, keep their shape during the paint process, hold an amazing amount of water/paint, have a dependable point, and are a comfortable length without taking up too much space for travel.
I thought that I would give oil pastels a try. This set was reviewed on YouTube. It appeared to have everything I needed to get started. The set arrived quickly and I got to work. The paper was sturdy and the tape was the best I have ever used. It held just enough. The pastels themselves were very smooth and went on easy. They could be blended without too much difficulty.
The best thing about the oil pastels was that they allowed me to get away from detail and work more on impressions. After all, there is only so much fine detail you can add in that medium.
I finished two seascapes and used the nice frame included in the set to display one of them. I enjoyed myself so much that I went ahead and bought a larger set with more colors.
I highly recommend this product.
My new Deluxe Multi-function Heavy Duty Large Artist Easel is exactly what I needed to replace my old desktop one. It is a beautiful addition to my studio! It gives me the ability to work on larger surfaces, put my reference above, or work on two paintings at once, while also being able to lie flat like a table to work. It is very sturdy and moves about easily. Shipping was fast, it came packaged beautifully, and partially assembled, so it went together very easily. I also purchased the extra large workstation and I am in heaven!
I am very happy that I purchased my extra large artists storage cart! It allows me to have everything I need, nicely organized and laid out right in my reach. It has a great sized work area with a removable mid tone gray palette surface.

Colour selection is fantastic. They look particularly great on a natural paper. The texture is smooth. Not as smooth & soft as Sennelier but certainly more soft than Caran D'Ache. Great value for money to have such a wide access to colours.
I have this tucked up under a puzzle table. It was easy to assemble and is well-built.
